I traveled here in the spring of 2025, and it was amazing. It reminded me of everything I love and miss about visiting Asian countries. This was one of my first trips back to Asia since 2018, when I stayed for a whole month.
I started and ended the trip in Taipei City because that’s where my flight was, and I also wanted to enjoy the nightlife there.
Taipei City has tons of night markets—and really, all of Taiwan does. Since it was my first time back in Asia, I had to have some Peking Duck, and I devoured a whole one for my birthday. I also explored a few local sights, even though I was trying to stay dry from the rain.
On the way back through Taipei, we visited Taipei 101, hit up another night market, found some soup dumplings, and tried some Michelin-rated beef noodle soup. I also took advantage of the foot massage spots around the city, which are pretty affordable and perfect after a long day of walking and sightseeing.
All in all, I had a great time here and met a lot of cool, friendly people.
